HOCKEY

The UNSW Hockey Club is one of the largest hockey clubs in NSW. The UNSW Hockey Club fields six mens teams in the Sydney Hockey Association from Div 1 to Div 4 and a total of eight womens teams: four in the highest women's competition of Sydney Women's Hockey League and four teams in the local Eastern District Women's Hockey Association. In addition we have 3 junior teams in the Sydney Junior competition in the U11,U13, U15 grades.

We have an abundance of top coaches, including, Coach Coordinator, Dave Mike Coach of the NSW U/18 Indoor Hockey team and a number of present and past representative players who provide their coaching expertise.

In addition to the competitive winter competition, the club has plenty of social events, including mixed summer competition, 7-a-side events, indoor hockey and we actively participate in country hockey carnivals such as Albury. There are BBQ's, quiz nights and of course the annual dinner presentation night to wrap up another successful hockey year.

The club caters for all levels of players of all ages from beginners and juniors to State and National Reps. Everyone is welcome to join in!

Training Location: 
We are currently building a new turf at David Phillips, it will also be an internationally rated UNSW Sporting Complex - The address is corner of Banks & Gwea, Daceyville.



As our turf is currently under construction we will be temporary training at Homebush and Moorebank hockey fields

Training:
Monday: 7:30-10:30pm all men and women SEPL at Moorebank from 7th February
And women ED from 21st February
Thursday: 7-8pm women metro at Homebush from 10th February

Trial Dates:
Training sessions will also be utilised as trials in the pre-season so please turn up to one of our training sessions so we can see you in action! 


Women Metro trials will be held Saturday 5th March 12-2pm at Kyeemah.

Competition Dates:
Men - SHA starts 19 March

Women - SWHL Metro 1,3,4 & 6 – starts end of March
Women - EDWHA (grade 1 - SEPL) – start early April
Women - EDWHA (grades 2-5) – start early April

Juniors - SHJA starts end of March (Mixed U11, U13, U15)

Hook n2 Hockey program u 15 (8 weeks) - 12 February – 2 April 


Minky - 5-9 yr olds to be decided.

Equipment:
The obvious: hockey stick, mouth guard, and shin pads. Our black and gold uniform can be purchased from the club.
